Contemporary Dance Oklahoma 2019: On the Rim

Set to the tune of Grofe’s Grand Canyon Suite, Austin Hartel’s On the Rim aims to capture the nuance and beauty of the Grand Canyon, from the animals within it to the explorers who set the first paths. Since Grofe’s piece is broken into five pieces, each a different time of the day, my goal was to represent a day in the Grand Canyon, from sunrise to sunset.
